Year 6 so far has been jam-packed with lots of fun.
To start off the year, we were all introduced to our WW2 topic. We learnt about Hitler, Anne Frank, Concentration Camps, Air raid shelters and Nazis.. I could go on for pages and pages.
In our classroom, we have 3 displays filled with propaganda, pop art, rationing books and lots more all tied in with the war. Did you know that due to rationing during the WW2, the scarcity of chocolate led to the invention of Nutella?
To end our topic, we went to see the heartbreaking film Zoo in the cinemas. Now, our new science topic is the circulatory system.
Whilst all of this WW2 stuff was going on, we were practising very hard for our 4th Christmas show at Bispham – Primary School Christmas Musical. The show was a great success! Everyone loved it from start to finish and for me, it was my favorite show at Bispham.
A few months ago, year 6 went to see women soldiers play each other England vs Germany on a school trip. Germany won.
Very recently, years 4, 5 and 6 went to Young Voices 2019. Is was SUPER!!! The Special guests were Tony Hadley, Beau Dermott and Sharlene Hector. The atmosphere of the concert was great, and the songs were amazing! Overall, it was a truly unforgettable last Young Voices for me and most other year 6’s. We have our SATS in May and then our residential the week after – I am so excited to visit the Lake District.
