Sports Funding 16/17

The additional funding for sport in primary schools is given to help improve the quality of PE provision in schools and to help children to make healthy choices.

It is funded by the Department for Education and for the 2016/17 academic year we received £9190 and for the 2015/16 academic year we received £9,000.

At Bispham Drive we use this money to employ specialist providers of fitness, self development and team work through Commando Jo.

Part-funded by the Department for Education, Commando Jo employ military veterans from across the Armed Forces who have shown bravery and strength of character in some of the most demanding situations

They pick the best and they retrain them to go in to schools and pass their unique skill set on to the next generation.

Working alongside teachers in hundreds of schools across the UK, their instructors offer team building and mentoring in and out of the classroom.

It’s not about shouting orders and military manoeuvres. It’s about finding fun ways to help children discover strength of character, positivity under pressure, and resilience in the face of whatever life throws at them.
