Homework
Reading
We expect that every child in Pegasus will read with an adult at home at least 4 times a week (more would be fantastic!). Please sign your child’s P.O. (personal organiser) , on the date you have read. We will check this on a weekly basis.

Times Tables
Please practise times tables with your child on a weekly basis. It is crucial they retain ‘quick fire’ knowledge of all tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of year 4 (including the associated division facts). Please start with 2, 5, 10 times tables and move on to 3’s, 4’s and 8’s when these are secure. You will find online games to help with this on the useful links section. Little and often is best way to learn times tables.

Spelling
Your child has been given login details for Spelling Shed where they can access their weekly spelling assignment. This is a fun interactive way for the children to practise. Assignments will normally be set on a weekly basis. Your child will be tested on these words on a weekly basis (this can be found in the P.O,).
They will receive a half termly pack (at the start of each half term) containing all the spelling patterns. This is to be kept at home and worked through on a weekly basis. We may, on occasions, ask to see how they are getting on with learning their spellings and therefore ask them to bring the pack back into school.
Alongside this, we will be teaching daily spelling sessions in school.
Click on the link below for different ways to learn spellings. A ‘little and often’ approach often works best!

English or Maths
Alongside spellings, your child will receive a ‘formal’ piece of homework either Maths or English. This will be given out on a Friday and is expected back in school by the following Friday.
Please complete ALL homework in pencil.
Flipped Learning
Children are encouraged to watch flipped learning videos before and after lessons to help with their learning. The children have been given their new Google usernames and passwords written in their Personal Organisers and have joined the ‘Positive Pegasus’ Google Classroom page. Please check Google Classroom for the latest piece of homework and to access links to websites and videos!
Google Classroom is also an excellent way to contact us if you have any questions about the homework or alternatively your child can ask a classmate for advice!
